Customsbrokers clear goods through customs and to their destination on behalf ofimporter and exporter clients. Shipbrokers buy and sell cargo space on shipsand buy and sell ships, yachts and other watercraft on behalf of clients. Thisunit group also includes other brokers, not elsewhere classified, who negotiatecommercial transactions, logistics or other services between parties on behalfof clients. They are employed by customs, ship or other brokerageestablishments or may be self-employed.

--根据海关规定、法律和程序，代表客户准备和处理进出文件和其他表单。

--代表客户，使用客户的授权，签署进出口文件；（新新源移民）

--就商品的关税和税率给客户报价；

--就进出口限制、关税制定、信用证、保险要求和奇怪海关相关问题，给客户提供建议；

船舶经纪人

--代表个人、公司和政府，买卖船舱空间；

Mainduties

Customs brokers perform some or all of the following duties:

Prepareand process import/export documents and other forms on behalf of clientsaccording to customs regulations, laws and procedures

Signimport/export documents on behalf of client, using power of attorney

Arrangefor payment of duties, taxes, storage and transportation of imported goods andbonds to cover duty goods

Quoteduty and tax rates on commodities for clients

Provideadvice to clients on export and import restrictions, tariff systems, letters ofcredit, insurance requirements and other custom related matters

Mayrepresent client before administrative tribunals or in other dealings withgovernment officials.

Shipbrokers perform some or all of the following duties:

Buyand sell cargo space on ships on behalf of individuals, companies andgovernments

Consulttrade publications and other sources to provide information to clients onavailable cargo space, destinations, rates and departure locations and times,and arrange ship charters for clients

Negotiaterates and terms and prepare contracts and other papers

Buyand sell ships, yachts and other watercraft on behalf of clients

Inspectvessels, explain features and negotiate price when purchasing or selling for clients

Arrangefor insurance coverage for cargo or for ships

Arrangefor registration and licensing of ships.

Completionof secondary school is required.

Somepost-secondary education in commerce or a related field may be required.

Customsbrokers require several years of on-the-job training and completion of acustoms brokers training program through the International Federation ofCustoms Brokers Association.

Acustoms broker licence, issued by the Canada Border Services Agency, isrequired for an individual or company to operate a customs brokerage business.

Shipbrokersselling cargo space on ships usually require several years of on-the-jobtraining or related experience such as shipping company scheduling experience.Shipbrokers selling watercraft usually require in-depth experience with, andknowledge of, various watercraft.
