You can apply for a Certificado deAntecedentes Penales at any Puerto Rican Police Department by mail oronline.
You can apply for an Identity HistorySummary Request by downloading the application form from the FederalBureau of Investigation website or send a request by mail (see Specialnotes and considerations for complete address).
You must fill out the applicant informationform and obtain a set of your fingerprints.
Citizenship and Immigration Canada does notaccept FBI police certificates issued by FBI-approved third party privatecompanies. Only police certificates issued directly by the FBI will beaccepted.
Please mail your completed fingerprintscard along with a certified cheque or money order for the applicable processingfees, payable to the U.S. Treasury (see Specialnotes and considerations for complete address).
The FBI will send you a letter with theresults of your record check. That letter will be your police certificate. Youshould send the letter and any attached documents to the Citizenship andImmigration Canada office processing your file.
