Supervisorsin this unit group supervise and co-ordinate the activities of dry cleaning,laundry, ironing, pressing and finishing workers, theatre ushers andattendants, sports and recreation club workers, commissionaires, securityguards and other service workers not elsewhere classified. They are employed byservice establishments throughout the public and private sectors.

Mainduties

Supervisors in this unit group perform some or all of the following duties:

Co-ordinate,assign and review the work of dry cleaning, laundry, ironing, pressing andfinishing workers, theatre ushers and attendants, sports and recreation clubworkers, commissionaires, security guards and other service workers notelsewhere classified

Establishwork schedules and procedures and co-ordinate activities with other work unitsor departments

Resolvework-related problems and prepare and submit progress and other reports

Hireand train staff in job duties, safety procedures and company policies

Requisitionsupplies and materials

Ensuresmooth operation of computer systems, equipment and machinery, and arrange formaintenance and repair work

Monitorquality and production levels

Mayperform the same duties as workers supervised.
